Spacecation ahead!

The official poster I made for Big City Greens the Movie: Spacecation has been spotted in the wilds of Disneyland itself, so I guess it’s now safe to post it here! I’m told we’re going to be seeing this and related images I made a lot in coming weeks, and I couldn’t be more excited.
I’ve spent the past 2.5 years Art Directing this amazingly fun project for the Houghton Bros., and it has been an absolute pleasure. So many talented folks contributed to this film. I can’t wait for everybody to see it- it’s touching, funny, heartfelt, and action-packed, and I’ll be putting obnoxious amounts of artwork up soon!
As always, thanks for stopping in…

It's been a while!

Hopefully some day I’ll be able to post even a fraction of all the artwork we made for the canceled show I was Art Directing over at Netflix… don’t get me started… but, in the meantime, here’s the first of several posters (in this case the Teaser) I made for the Disney project I’ve been Art Directing for the past 2 years (!!!!!!). I can’t believe it’s been that long since I last posted here.
I’ll have a ton of new work to show in the coming weeks, so be sure to check back soon.
As always, thanks so much for stopping in to look around!

Netflix Holiday Card(s)

I got the chance to design Netflix Animation’s 2021 Holiday Greeting Card last month, so I thought I’d post a few iterations. I never saw their final version with full text and embossed printing, etc., but I hear they turned out pretty good! The original version(s) had a little polar bear family included, but I think they opted to go without for the final. It was a fun little side project- hope you like it!

Happy 2022!

Annual Art Upload Time...

Hello, stranger!
It always amazes me how the time between these drops gets longer and longer. I guess it’s a sign of how busy I’ve been, so I suppose I won’t feel too bad about it!
What a year+ it’s been, though! More time spent working from home amidst COVID and all the other horrible stuff happening in the world. Fires, plagues, wars, famine, pestilence, locusts, robot overlords, alien invasions, dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria! It’s enough to make you crazy.
So… why don’t we look at some cartoon art! Woohoo!!!
Since my last big post, the Mickey Shorts wrapped and evolved into The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse over at Disney+. The art shown in this post is essentially a smattering of highlights from the first season- I hope you enjoy it all!
My biggest news, however, is that I’ve been working over at Netflix for the past year on an insanely cool project… that I can’t go into, unfortunately. It’s had some ups and downs as we’ve developed it, but I hope to share some of the mountain of work we’ve done for it soon.
Thanks for stopping in! (All images in this post ©Disney.)

Some Looney Tunes Cartoons Stuff...

I’m writing up a longer post with a ton of new Mickey work, but I thought I’d quickly post this here. The amazing Aaron Spurgeon and the folks over at WB asked me to do some BG designs for a Looney Tunes short that is available on HBOMax, so I thought I’d show a couple examples here.
Here’s ”Falling For It”…

Mickey Ride Now Open... Sort Of...

“Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway”, the Disney World (& soon to be Disneyland) ride, has finally opened to the public… just in time for the world to shut down due to the coronavirus! We had our plane tickets to Orlando bought and everything! Stupid pandemic.

See a full walkthrough… ridethrough?… HERE.

I can finally post some of the work done for the ride, so I thought I’d start with the posters I made for the entry line. These are all based on shorts from different seasons, done in a classic movie poster full page style.

Mickey’s car and the train can be seen in my “vehicles & props” section of my portfolio. More to be posted ASAP. Thanks for stopping by!

As seen in the wild.
